Hi, my name is Grayson Dyer. When I started, I was a sophomore at Los Gatos High School. My brother Lane and I cleaned neighbors' windows during the summer. We operated our company under the name 'Cloud Nine Cleaning.'

When the summer had come to an end, we put window cleaning on the side to focus on school.
Our First Truck

We purchased our first work truck in August of 2023. It was a 1998 Ford Ranger. Typically, we would carry 2 ladders, 2 cleaning sets, soap, water buckets, and a pressure washer.

Developing Digital Marketing Skills
During that school year, I started a car-detailing business with a friend. That’s where I learned the foundations of digital marketing — from web design and social media ads to sales strategy. After about six months, I realized that detailing wasn’t scalable. By February 2024, I decided to restart my original window cleaning business — this time with a new digital-first mindset.
The Early Days
FEBRUARY 2024
From February to June, I focused on my company. I began building the brand on social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Google & Nextdoor. I also developed an early-stage website with minimal content.

Many of our early customers came from Nextdoor. In 2024, we got awarded Nextdoor's 'Favorite Home Service Business' based on reviews.
Our First 'Real' Season
MAY 2024 - SEPTEMBER 2024
When spring & summer started, we were in a position to clean larger homes. We had learned the skills, safety, and operational systems needed to build a company that is capable of delivering quality results to homeowners with high expectations.  

With the right marketing campaigns, we were able to complete 1 large job after school. When school ended, we would do 2-3 jobs per day.

What Do People Feel When They See Your Brand?
I realized that offers & specials don't attract—they push. Instead, I built a chart that proved I could spend 50% of my revenue on digital ads and still break even.

The actual profit was not a concern for me. My focus was on the brand. The money the business generates does not bind me. I see the money as a tool that can build something larger.

With this marketing budget, I don't run direct offers. I simply entice with offers. In reality, I sell myself, my story, and my clientele.

In turn, I attract those similar.

Scaling Into Different Services
SEPTEMBER 2025
In September 2025, we took a trip to Oregon City, Oregon, to purchase a commercial pressure washing skid for one of our work trucks.

This machine will allow us to shift into an entirely new service that pairs nicely with window cleaning. We can provide residential pressure washing services & commercial pressure washing services.
